Dr Kerry Mills (Director)
Kerry is the founder and director of Systematic Solutions. A research scientist for many years, Kerry also worked for a non-governmental organisation, before joining the public service in 2009. In 2015, Kerry left to start her own company, Systematic Solutions.
Kerry has many years' experience in medical science. She was a researcher at Australia's top research institutes (John Curtin School of Medical Research, Walter and Eliza Hall Institute), where she worked with HIV-1 and malaria. Kerry then moved to Germany, where she researched early infection events in the hepatitis viruses HBV and HDV.
Returning to Australia, Kerry joined a non-governmental organisation, where she ran the laboratories and undertook patent analysis. In 2009, Kerry joined the public service, initially in the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations, and then at Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). Kerry's six years at FSANZ saw her manage large food safety projects, as well as risk assessment work on applications from industry. Kerry trained in systematic review and meta-analysis, and is a Cochrane Collaboration author.
An alumnus of the Australian National University, Melbourne University and the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg (Germany), Kerry guest lectures in microbiology and immunology at the University of Canberra, and is an Adjunct Associate Professor of the University.
